CYMERA_20160902_012058

It’s nearing the end of the year, and I can say that 2016 has definitely been the most eventful (from a live music standpoint). I’ve discovered so many new artists and venues, and I’m so lucky to still have more to look forward to this fall!

PURITY RING with Health – $28.50 + fees

October 29, 2016 – Riviera Theatre Chicago

General Admission

The first time I ever heard of these guys, it was 5 years ago when their track “Lofticries” was seamlessly set to footage of a 1970’s Swedish film called “Thriller: A Cruel Picture.” The fan-made YouTube video sent me into a synth-spiral, and after that day I never heard music the same again.

MAJID JORDAN with (opener TBA) – $28.25 + fees

everystep
Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman

November 6, 2016  – Metro Chicago

General Admission

Meet Greet Upgrade (must have GA ticket) – $68 + fees

You BETTER BELIEVE I hopped on that VIP ticket day one! As if witnessing their live set isn’t enough, I’ll soon have the pleasure of telling these two just how much their music means to me! I just saw them perform in April, so to see them again so soon is just a big highlight for me this year.

RUFUS DU SOL with Roland Tings, Atlas Bound – $28 + fees

Australian trio Rufus du Sol

November 11, 2016  – Concord music hall  Riviera Theatre

General Admission

Rufus Du Sol truly set the soundtrack to my very first “music-festival-in-a-rain-poncho” experience at Lollapalooza this past summer. I’d heard their name before in passing, (and music without knowing who they were apparently), and took a chance front-row at the set. Let it be known that their performance was probably one of the most life-changing, invigorating, and emotional concert experiences I have ever had in my life. Coming off of a tumultuous past few days in my personal life, this show gave birth to a new me and I’ll never forget it.

Interested? I threw together a quick little playlist of a couple of my favorite videos/live performances that I feel really capture the essence of each artist.

What do you think of their stuff? Have any favorite tracks by these artists? Seen them live before? Let me know!
