My annual birthday shenanigans just got real – REAL, real.
The 2017 Lollapalooza Chicago lineup has been out for about two weeks now – which is exactly how long it has taken me to mentally fathom what’s in store for me this upcoming summer. I actually could use more processing time.
Securing a ticket for Lolla is always a pretty big deal for me, since EVERY YEAR it’s on my birthday weekend. (Can’t beat em – join em, right?) And I mean, clearly this is an ideal event for someone who enjoys music and it’s always my biggest splurge of the year. This will be my 4th time attending – as in I’ve gone every year since I moved here to Chicago.
Cut to me: Up at the crack of dawn on the day of sale with my 2 laptops ready go, and spending the next few hours wildly fixating on getting that damn ticket! Clearly I got the 4-day pass after having a heart attack, but then had to pretend I was mentally stable enough to then go to a Sleigh Bells concert later that evening.

Trying to sleep the night before the lineup announcement was worse than Christmas Eve. I tossed and turned and literally woke up at 6am on my day off – show wristband still on – just to see the lineup as soon as possible.
