Atlanta’s annual Music Midtown Festival is almost here – can you believe it? In just six days I’ll be in the presence of a few familiar faces, and some that are actually new to me. This marks the first time I’m getting to see both Lizzo and Cardi B, but also the 5th time seeing Travis Scott across the span of just a year. Naturally, I put together a playlist to highlight some acts that I’m looking forward to seeing this upcoming weekend!

Last Friday’s heavy wave of new album releases brought us Pop 2 – Charli XCX’s unexpected follow-up to early 2017’s mixtape Number 1 Angel. The high-octane, femme-friendly feels from the previous project definitely spill over into the new record, but that’s not a problem at all.

Following the likes of musicians like Tinashe, Mo, Ty Dolla $ign, Jojo, and more – NY noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells will be one of the featured artists on tonight’s episode of “Wonderland”.
In case you didn’t know, MTV’s “Wonderland” is a live music platform for popular and emerging artists, and has definitely been a step in the right direction when it comes to bringing actual music back to the lineup.
On the eve of their Jessica Rabbit album release (even thought it’s been streaming online), I’m hoping to enjoy some performances of new tracks from Sleigh Bells, and I’ll be grabbing their album first thing in the morning!
