Australian producer Flume is still going strong this year, after sharing his mixtape Hi This Is Flume earlier this summer. This latest track has been a staple in his recent festival circuit, including Chicago’s Lollapalooza in August. The dazzling new song “Rushing Back” features fellow Aussie musician – vocalist Vera Blue (with whom he previously worked with on a unique twist on the Ghost Town DJs’ 90’s classic “My Boo”).

Literally everyone is releasing music left and right this month, and Aussie artist Flume has been no exception. As his first full-length release since 2016’s Skin, last week the experimental producer dropped a completely unexpected mixtape titled Hi This Is Flume. The 17-track mix is just under 40 minutes, and features work with artists like SOPHIE, slowthai, JPEGMAFIA and frequent collaborator Kučka just to name a few. The record is accompanied by a Jonathan Zawada-directed visual that is a breathtaking sensory overload and definitely worth a watch to really experience the attention to detail on these tracks.

It seems like Flume’s Grammy-award winning album Skin, is just the gift that keeps on giving. You know it’s good when the 16-track, hour and a half long LP can still have not one – but TWO 4-track component EP’s – both rounding out this nearly year-long concept era associated with the album’s success.
