The time has finally come ya’ll: in less than an hour you can get your hands on Heavy Handed – the long-awaited debut album from Chicago’s very own Pixel Grip. From Empty Bottle to SXSW and literally almost everything in-between, all of those moments will culminate at the official record release event on Saturday, April 13 at Sleeping Village. You will NOT want to miss out on this!
The night will include local support from Chicago acts like Ariel Zetina, Cameron Traxx, Grun Wasser, and OMG…they added CAE MONAE to the bill! This event is literally gonna go all the way off and will feature live performances, DJ sets, probably lots of booze, and of course physical copies of the record (and CD) will be available for purchase. Doesn’t that sound fun?
The highly anticipated album drops in an hour, and will feature all the bops like “Diamonds”, “Golden Moses”, and personal favorite “Soft Peaks.” I can’t wait for that video, let me tell you! For now you can check out the music video for “Plastic Enemies” (featuring the ridiculously talented Orb Box) and wait patiently for what’s next to come.
Like I said, don’t you dare think about sleeping on tickets to Saturday’s event, unless you’re Sleeping at the Village – you WILL regret it! I haven’t been this excited for an album release in a good minute, and am so proud of the astronomical growth of this local act.
