As a young tot in the days of the Mickey Mouse Club, AND a teen during the iconic “Stripped” era – I’ve always been a pretty solid fan of Christina Aguilera. In a much needed, yet unexpected return to the airwaves, Aguilera is back with a new dance track which features support from 2 Chainz and Ty Dolla $ign and is the first single from her forthcoming ninth record: Liberation.
In more recent months, Christina’s Instagram feed strayed from her usual family-oriented posts and started to align with the notion of new music, and her fashion game right now is everything! Loving her short bob cut and the idea of playing with risky new looks. Xtina – is that you, girl?
The new single “Accelerate” was released on May 3rd, and the video literally dropped moments later before I even had a chance to listen to it. Although the track was somewhat teased online, I had no indication of what to expect from her new material. I don’t want to give away any hints about the video, so I’ll let you form your own opinions and share you thoughts with me! To be honest I can’t really put this song into any genre, but the collaborations work really well on the track and it’s really, really catchy. Honestly the BEST PART OF THE SONG is the switch-up during 2 Chainz’ verse, and you’ll exactly know what I mean if you listen once. I’m actually still looking for my wig as we speak.
With a brand new album out next month, and the jaw-dropping news of a headlining tour on sale this weekend – the girl is busy and I’m here for it. The only time I’ve been able to catch her live was on the Back To Basics Tour, with Danity Kane and The Pussycat Dolls opening for her. Can anything top that?
