This fall, R&B singer Kelela is about to embark on a headlining tour in support of her upcoming release Take Me Apart. Along with the news comes a brand new single and music video – featuring Kelela as we’ve never seen her before.
Kelela’s new single “LMK” (Let Me Know) just dropped this month on August 9th, and was quickly followed by a music video shortly after.
It’s always nice to take in both the visual and new single at the same time, and the stunning video opens with throwback vibes right from the start. Nods to the late 90’s and early 2000’s R&B scene are clearly evident, with a direct reference to Mary J. Blige in the opening shot.
As a listener for quite a few years now, I am really excited for the new direction her music is heading, and am beyond thrilled to finally see her perform live this year.
