Over a span of just a few days, The Weeknd chopped his ‘locs while Tinashe dropped new tracks, Solange has a new album out this weekend, and the Kaytranada train JUST WONT STOP. A lot is going on right now so let’s get right to it.
My favorite R&B triple-threat is seemingly prepping for the TBD release of Joyride, her ridiculously long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s Aquarius. “Superlove” has been quite the hit, and she needs to keep the ball rollin’ and smash the charts!
I am just sitting here impatiently waiting for her to dominate, but in the meantime I’ll take what I can get! Watch her classically-trained, precision moves in her “dance” version of her single “Superlove”, or listen to her latest track “Company” which she premiered last week on MTV.
After deleting all of his Instagram posts last week, Abel Tesfaye (better known as The Weekend) pretty much came out of nowhere and dropped “Starboy”, with support from Daft Punk. The video came out faster than I surely expected, but I’m already liking the clean, neon, minimal aesthetic for sure. Can’t wait to hear what’s next, but what the heck is a starboy?
My favorite Knowles is finally giving us the new material we’ve been waiting for! A Seat At The Table will be released this Friday, and any follower of her Instagram has known that this art piece was a long time coming. I can’t wait to see how her artistry has progressed and changed over the years, and how the visuals will accompany the tracks.

If her striking photography and directing skills are any indicator of the tone of the album – it will surely be incredible.
BAAAAANNNNNKKKKKS is back and The Altar, her follow-up to 2014’s Goddess comes out this Friday!

Even though she disappeared for some time to work on new tracks, it was worth the wait 100% and she’s back with so much power. She was always really soft-spoken but let the lyrics do the talking. Now it seems her confidence has grown and she’s really taking more vocal risks. I’m here for it! This is my favorite of the tracks that have been released so far, “Gemini Feed”.

solangeeee. yesss. finally. will report back after listening!
But how did I just see this now tho LOL
That new Solange album is EVERYTHING! I had never really listened to her before, but I’m so glad a friend put me on to this. It’s so refreshing, reminiscent of early 2000s Teedra Moses. “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Wish Me Well” are on heavy rotation!
