There’s just one name we’ve been hearing non-stop over the past few weeks:

The success of her newest record A Seat at the Table has spread like wildfire, definitely making her the Knowles to Know right now. A.S.A.T.T. peaked at the tippity-top of the Billboard 200, making this her 1st #1 album. Well-deserved, girl!

So obviously I went to see Crystal Castles a few weeks back (that post is coming, I swear), and it was pretty much the best show so far this year.
With that being said, I always make a point to catch the opening acts for every show I go to. Not just because I am a front-row hog, but because finding new artists is fun, and having your first impression be a live performance can really be definitive of your interest. It’s also cool to see who the headliner has partnered with for the tour.
Well, this was no exception. With 2 opening acts up first, I wondered if I’d have enough adrenaline to make it through the night, as I hadn’t heard of Alex Zelenka (or The Guidance) before.
To my pleasant surprise, Zelenka actually works directly with Ethan Kath and has collaborated on various projects – thus giving us those dungeon rave / warehouse / goth / witch-house vibes that we didn’t even know we needed that early in the night!
Remixes and reverb, 80s and 808s, the Chicago-native DJ/producer was paired up to perfection to get in mood for show. How cool that he posted his full set on Soundcloud?? Now I get to relive that night any time I want!
