Needless to say, I’ve been a bit absent from here lately and have honestly just been busy trying to get a lot of things sorted out in my personal life. With that being said, music has not stopped evolving and changing along with the seasons – and I’m here to get back on track! New tours, new albums, new videos and more!
TINASHE’S NEW VIDEO FOR “FLAME” IS HOT
The sultry new single “Flame” premiered mid-March and will be on Tinashe’s upcoming album Joyride. The release was accompanied with Tinashe hitting the streets of New York City – flashmob style. Complete with music, a firetruck and of course – dancing firemen. The track is also featured on the soundtrack for feature film The Fate of the Furious.
While you’re cooling down, sure to check out my review of Tinashe’s latest album Nightride.
FLUME DID IT AGAIN – SKIN:THE REMIXES
Again, this album just keeps going and going and going. After saying himself that these final EPs were the end of the Skin, Harley Streten – better known as Flume – dropped yet ANOTHER component to the album: the remixes.
Released on April 7, the album includes collaborations and reworks from Baauer, Martin Solveig, Stwo, and even Disclosure.
You still have time to catch him tour this album during the festival season! Governor’s Ball and Summerfest are almost here! I’ve seen him tour this record twice now and it was an experience I’ll never forget. And that’s literally why I’m road-tripping to Summerfest – MUST SEE.
KENDRICK LAMAR THO
New album? Check. 2 new videos? Check. Absolutely killed it at Coachella? CHECK. All you can really say is:
Kendrick Lamar is making sure nobody gets any sleep by continuously dropping new material now that he’s back on our minds. Check out this visual for “HUMBLE.” off of his latest record and prepare to stay woke.
Listen to Lamar’s “DAMN.” – which just dropped April 14 and is already #1 on the Billboard Charts!
2017 RIOT FEST LINEUP – WAVE ONE
Chicago’s Riot Fest just shared with us the 1st “wave” of acts slated to grace the stage at this year’s festival. With about 25 or more artists yet to be announced, this is not looking too bad! I have a lot on my plate this summer, but wouldn’t mind catching M.I.A., TV on the Radio, Vic Mensa, and NINE INCH NAILS. I’ve been trying to see NIN for ages and I can’t go another moment without seeing Trent Reznor’s biceps in person.
Any acts stand out to you? Who are u excited to see? Tickets are on sale now!
