Recorded last year in Toronto, the Canadian R&B duo Majid Jordan teased (and quickly revealed) the song and music video for their new track “Caught Up”, which features Grammy-nominated crooner Khalid. Marking the first official release since 2017’s incredible sophomore record The Space Between, could this the first single from a new album?
Mind you, in 2018 the guys did manage to share two standalone singles “All Over You” and “Spirit”, but have been pretty hush-hush whilst cooking up new material for the masses. To say this was unexpected is an understatement, but I will certainly take it. These two easily come to mind when I think of my favorite (and the most creative) artists in music today.
In the video, the guys (Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman – hence the name Majid Jordan) embark on a literal trip – accidentally ingesting a psychedelic hot sauce which brings them to a kaleidoscopic rodeo and an alien encounter. Keep in mind there’s no way i could make this up.
More importantly: Did anyone catch the glimpse of that “Good People” logo on the hot sauce bottle? Real ones know what’s up! That part literally took my breath away and really exhibits their attention to detail. It’s cool to see how far they’ve come since 2013’s Afterhours.
