After so graciously releasing two isolated bops just about five months ago, Lorely Rodriguez – aka Empress Of – began teasing music from what we then assumed would be a new album. Well, it’s been confirmed and the date is set, hunny! Read the details here 🙂
It’s definitely been awhile since Lorely’s 2015 debut release Me, but there’s been plenty of substantial releases during her break from the limelight that make it feel like she hasn’t skipped a beat. There’s been collaborations with the likes of Pional and Reformer (to name a few) and my personal favorite song of hers: “Woman Is a Word”. Towards the end of this past summer, Empress Of gave us the video for “When I’m With Him” – a FADER-produced visual and track from the upcoming record.
Not only am I excited for new music from this one, but she is incredible live and I hope she tours again – I highly recommend! Check out the latest release “Love For Me” ahead of the record drop next weekend. The sophomore full-length album from Empress Of – titled Us – will be available via Terrible Records on October 19th.
