IT’S ALMOST THAT TIME OF (NEXT) YEAR…
2017’s 59th Annual Grammy Awards will be airing on Sunday, February 12 on CBS at 7pm CST. It will be hosted by Late Late Show’s host James Corden, who you may know best from his Carpool Karaoke segments on his show.
I absolutely LOVE his energy and everything he says is hilarious, so it’ll be a nice change of pace!
Leading the pack this year with award nominations is none other than Beyonce (of course) with 9, but she’s in close company with Drake, Kanye West, and Rihanna – who all received 8 noms each.
The categories that I’m most excited for are:
- Album of the Year (I prefer “Views” from the list, but Bey or Adele may snag this one)
- Song of the Year (I’ll be happy for Adele or Beyonce – they both deserve it)
- Best Dance/Electronic Album (Flume for his album Skin! /why does this category never air on tv?)
- Best Music Video (Jamie xx should absolutely win for “Gosh” (either version), but can he beat Queen Bey?)

THE VICTORIA’S SECRET FASHION GAGA SHOW WAS LIT
Let’s be serious this year’s show was not about lingerie – it was about how an actual angel was present in the building, y’all – LADY GAGA.
Yes, other guests were present (including fellow performers The Weeknd and Bruno Mars), but I had my eye on one person and one person only:
Not to discredit the preparation and legacy associated with the iconic Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but it’s 2016 and to be honest I just wanna see who performs and that’s about it.
I remember in the 90’s the show was hours long and showcased wearable lingerie, with just a touch of music to enhance the experience. I mean it is starting to feel a little Instagram-filtered and watered down for the attention span of today’s youth, but if I can see Gaga and Kendall Jenner (yes, I’m a fan) on the same stage from the comfort of my couch – then let’s do this.

- How many different looks did this woman have and she’s not one of the models?
- How did she change out of those boots and into those STILTS in 5 seconds??
- THAT RUNWAY WALK AT THE END – those supermodels better not complain about their “feet hurting” if she can do this all day LOL
