These are the albums I listened to the most in 2019, in no particular order. These records made the list for a few reasons: production, lyrics, concept, longevity, creativity, and more. These are the ones that simply don’t get old, and I am happy to take them with me into the new year. With that said, there is still a best album of the year –  so read on to find out who took the top spot!

So there I was, meticulously putting together my end-of-year reviews: shows, songs, and albums included. I thought I had a long-standing, clear decision on my favorite release of 2019. I thought. Then tenacious triple-threat Tinashe said hold on 2019 imma put out the album of the year real fast and well, here we are. Wrapping up the decade with one of the most fulfilling, well-constructed, and engaging albums I’ve had the pleasure of listening to, and the honor could not be going to someone more persistent, hard-working, and deserving of the title. Here’s my review of her latest album Songs For You.

Flume Shares “Rushing Back” Music Video + Bonus Instrumental and Remixes

Australian producer Flume is still going strong this year, after sharing his mixtape Hi This Is Flume earlier this summer. This latest track has been a staple in his recent festival circuit, including Chicago’s Lollapalooza in August. The dazzling new song “Rushing Back” features fellow Aussie musician – vocalist Vera Blue (with whom he previously worked with on a unique twist on the Ghost Town DJs’ 90’s classic “My Boo”).

The Weeknd Shares Two Dynamic New Singles From Forthcoming Release + Music Video


Abel Tesfaye, better known to the masses as The Weeknd, dropped a frenetic new music video to accompany the pulsating track “Heartless”, and also shared a second single “Blinding Lights” to kick off this new era – which he has personally described as a “brain melting psychotic chapter”.
