I know 2024 is already over – but I’m not done! In true (late) fashion, I wanted to share some of my favorite music videos from last year—no particular order, just the ones that have stood out the most based on concept, styling, and editing. Whether it was the whimsically graphic horror in “BOA”, or the glitchy choreography that we expect from FKA twigs, these videos have been on repeat for me – well into 2025. Whether you’re into cool animations or epic dance performances, there’s a little bit of everything in here. Check out these highlights from artists like Doechii, Aespa, Tinashe, Addison Rae, The Marias, and more.

New Music from The Marías + Upcoming Album Release Date!

NOW PLAYING: The brand-new single “Run Your Mouth” from LA’s own, The Marías. The song and video release mark the first lead single from their upcoming album Submarine (which is the follow-up to 2021’s Grammy-nominated debut album CINEMA). Saturated with primary colors and minimalistic shots, the music video concept blends beautifully with the song’s composition and lyrical content.

Post-show: Tinashe at Radius Chicago – BB/Ang3l Tour 2024

First show of 2024 – Tinashe at Chicago’s Radius! The 9-city East Coast leg of the BB/Ang3l Tour kicked off in Atlanta back in January and wrapped up here with Chicago being the finale show. I’d previously not been to a concert since last December (for Sky Ferreira), so I was really looking forward to this night. I get crazy if I go to long without live music! After the October show’s pushback (when her joint tour with Shygirl was cancelled), I was essentially counting the days to seeing her on stage again. It’s also been awhile since I checked out a new venue, and East Pilsen’s Radius did not disappoint. This incredibly grand, spacious setting (in a former steel factory) made for a really cool warehouse vibe, and the sound and lighting were spot on. Let’s get into a quick recap!

Upcoming Shows 2023

Happy March! My 2023 concert calendar is looking very promising at the moment, with tons of incredible acts announcing tour dates left and right. This even includes artists that made my Best of 2022 year-end album wrap up – how exciting! Now that I’ve resolved some ongoing health concerns (I’m okay!), what better way to get active again than to attend some shows around town. I may have to limit my dancing, unfortunately, but these few artists will have my adrenaline going whether I can shimmy or not!

Best of 2022 – Albums On Constant Repeat

BEST OF 2022 – ALBUMS: I listened to literally so much music this year, which is a huge part of why I’ve been too overwhelmed to really put out content. BUT – I’m regaining focus, and think it’s better late than never to go back and call attention to some of the albums that defined my year. We’ve got an anthology with unreleased song demos, a few solo debuts, four artists I’ve seen perform live, and even a release I stumbled upon just by clicking on its eye-catching album artwork. I feel like if you know me, this list makes perfect sense and is absolutely not-surprising lol. But hopefully for new viewers, this provides a glimpse into my personal taste!
