Doja Cat’s feline instincts make their formal debut in the purrr-fectly crafted visual for her latest track “Rules”. This release joins 2019 hit singles “Juicy” (the remix featuring Tyga), and the spanking new ride-or-die anthem “Bottom Bitch”. The sultry track is accompanied by an unexpected (and unapologetic) Christian Sutton-directed music video.
According to the 24-year-old L.A. rapper and producer, “you can play with my pussy, but don’t play with my emotions…” and the video closely mimics that threat. She keeps her word in more than a few car “incidents”, and one scene in particular – I’m getting Kanye West “Flashing Lights” flashbacks.
Full of blink and you’ll miss moments (peep those eyes, y’all) and ridiculously over the top looks (the booty-less trousers, though 👍🏾) the visual is one of her most creative to date. Her long-awaited new album Hot Pink is in just days, but for now you can check out “Rules” and let me know what you think!
